# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The beans stay perfectly crisp tender instead of turning mushy like so many other preparations
  • It comes together in under 25 minutes making it perfect for busy weeknight dinners
  • The garlic and olive oil let the fresh green bean flavor really shine through
02 -
  • The ice water bath is not optional if you want that beautiful bright green color instead of dull army green beans
  • Watch the garlic like a hawk once it hits the oil because it goes from fragrant to burned in seconds
  • Work in batches if your skillet is crowded or the beans will steam instead of getting those nice blistered spots
03 -
  • Pat the beans completely dry after the ice bath or they will not blister properly in the skillet
  • Use tongs to toss the beans gently so you do not break them into smaller pieces
